Magic is the art that, by the use of spells, invokes supernatural powers
to influence events.
In ancient pagan religions magic practices played an important role.
They were associated with mystery rituals in Rome, Egypt and in the
religions of the Near East. The techniques in magical ceremonials
include sympathetic magic, the use of amulets and charms, invocations
to the infernal deities, necromancy and divination.
Tantric practices also have an association with magic, although
terms other than "Tantric" (or "Tantrik") may be used. The terms
may be different but the general concept is similar.
That is, the use of sexual procedures to strengthen the
religious group feelings and to help bring about states
of possession by divine powers.
